Immersive Explorer

Looking for an alternative to Windows Explorer, the default file manager Microsoft created for its Windows operating system? If you are, then I present an immersive alternative from Julien Manici, the good looking, user friendly, and appropriately named Immersive Explorer. Use it to explore your drives, view your data, and manage all your files.

The system requirements for running Immersive Explorer are: Core 2 Duo processor or better, at least 1GB of RAM memory, .NET Framework 4.0 or newer, Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system.
The recommended option is to install Immersive Explorer on your Windows-powered machine. But you don’t have to install it if you don’t want to. You can also choose to run the application directly.

The application's interface is similar to Microsoft’s Metro UI: it has a dark background, it presents large tiles for your Libraries, Favorites, and Drives, it is optimized for touch. From the Settings menu you can select a language for the interface (many languages are supported) and you can change the dark background with a background wallpaper.

Immersive Explorer provides all the functionality you would expect from a file manager: access your libraries, view and access your drives, open files and folders, copy, move, rename, and delete files and folders.
